Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar

We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.

If you have questions about our calendar, or would like to add a listing, please contact calendar@bigsunday.org or submit your event/opportunity via the button below.

We Are LA @ Stub Hub Center
Sep 17 @ 10:00 am

We Are LA Family Festival aims to celebrate and engage the children and families in Los Angeles in a day-long family friendly music festival at the StubHub Center. The event promotes the importance of education for our children during the “Back to School” month of September.  Proceeds from the event support 7 child-focused nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles, including CASA of Los Angeles, and works to invest in the lives of children and families while making a difference in our community.

Los Angeles County has the population larger than 42 states, an economy larger than most countries and is a great exporter of philanthropy to other states and countries. Nearly 1 million people in Los Angeles are living in poverty and tragically only about 12 percent of 9th graders go on to earn a college degree. We Are LA Family Festival is about giving back to the community where we live, where our kids go to school, that provides us with beaches, movies, diverse cultural opportunities and warm sunshine year-round.  Support We Are LA Family Festival and celebrate the Los Angeles Community.

The formation of We Are LA came from the demands to support the tens of thousands of nonprofit organizations across Los Angeles, while lessening the competition for donors and resources, to create a collaborative platform where community supporters could enjoy a day of music, fun with friends and family, and give back to the community. After all, WE ARE LA.

Sep 25 @ 8:30 am – 11:00 am

The Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (GLA ALA) and CASA/LA (Court Appointed Special Advocates of Los Angeles) are partnering once again for the Justice Jog—a 5K Run/Walk benefiting CASA of Los Angeles—bringing the legal community, local businesses, community leaders, friends and family together for a good,? no, great cause.

All proceeds will benefit CASA/LA, an organization that recruits, trains and manages court-appointed volunteers to advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in the foster care system.  At present day, there are over 30,000 children in the foster care system who could benefit with the help of a CASA.

GLA ALA is the local source to promote, educate, develop, support and inspire more than 350 legal professionals throughout Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Ventura and Riverside counties.

Please join GLA ALA in its campaign to raise awareness for CASA/LA.JusticeJogLogo-300
